Brompfication Bolt On Front Hub

With our new Bolt on Front Hub we have designed what we think is the perfect front hub for your Brompton - a hub that will be a significant upgrade to you existing wheel build. 

The design is centered on stiffness and durability, and with a lot of attention given to every detail. The hub shell is precision machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, and then hand polished to mirror finish before anodized. The use of an oversized 15 mm axle and high quality ABEC-5 6802 bearings from Enduro, give the hub a high load capacity and excellent stiffness. The hub comes with a pair of special made M8 titanium bolts and cup washers. 

The hub use shouldered axles, also known as captured bearings, that precisely position the bearings in the hub. This kind of design require that the hub body and axle are machined to near perfect tolerances. The benefit is that no preload adjustment is necessary.

 
The weight of the hub is 75 grams and the titanium bolts add 17 grams on top of that. Total weight saving over the original Brompton hub is 58 grams. The weight is the same as Brompton’s now discontinued light front hub, but the titanium bolts save 17 grams over the bolt on skewer.
